1a) Today was
- a cooking day
1b) Was today a special day celebrated at the main meal with special food or activity?
Yes-the commander cooked a feast for her crew!
2) List the foods served at today's main meal (usually the evening meal), giving full names of each.
Scovergi (Romanian fried bread) with eggs/bacon omelet and salmon-sprout salad
Dessert-Rice pudding
3) List any main meal foods not finished by the crew (leftovers stored for later use or discarded)
All finished-awesome food!!!!!!!
4) Recipes for anything more complicated than following package directions exactly, or rehydrating.
Bread-bread made from the bread machine recipe 1 (dough) and then fried in the pan with butter
Omelet-Eggs, cornflour, milk, mushrooms and bacon
Salmon-sprouts salad-salmon tin with sprouts (lots) and lots of balsamic vinegar until sour to taste
Dessert-One cup of rice boiled with water. Add one tin of condensed milk, a few drops of lemon oil, sugar to taste, salt and add raisins and dried apples. Leave to simmer for a while. Prepare 2 t of egg, pour onto the mix and bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until burned on the edges. (would have been nice if we found the bourbon/vanilla in time-a teaspoon of that would have been magic!)
5) Lessons learned (if any)
Everyone who’s cooking should participate in the inventory of the food
6) Comments/questions for Kim and Jean, the food study investigators
