1a) Today was

- a non-cooking day

- the first day of the food study (defined meal) –sorry we weren’t aware that Mountain Chilli was first up to cook. We just got our bins from the market in Hanksville today. All the instructions were given out to the crew to fill out the surveys and the links as well.

1b) Was today a special day celebrated at the main meal with special food or activity?

No but karakia was observed (see first chef’s report)

2)  List the foods served at today's main meal (usually the evening meal), giving full names of each.

Mountain chilli with rehydrated broccoli and chicken.

3) List any main meal foods not finished by the crew (leftovers stored for later use or discarded)

All finished-very yummy!

4)  Recipes for anything more complicated than following package directions exactly, or rehydrating.  

The instructions were followed. Used half the container and saved the rest for the exiting crew as instructed. Added a bit of extra water into the chilli and some of the chicken water into the broccoli for taste.

5)  Lessons learned  (if any)

Cooking the food separately really worked. It had a lot of flavour and was enjoyed by all.
